George Washington

This past month something has really been bothering me. Our country seems to be trying to push God out. I wrote about the Candy Cane the child who made a project with the meaning of the Candy Cane. I wrote about God Went how people have been asking God to leave them alone and then when God doesn't answer them in trails they say how could he. I am seeing God being cut out of more and more places. Today I was reading a book and this book had a few quotes from our very first President. The book is a novel by Karen Kingsbury but the quotes are 100% fact.

A person pulled out a $1.00 bill and to sum up in my words he was talking about how the world promotes all this sex and violence and when Christians voice their opinion or boycott then come complain it is costing them money. The very money that state "In God We Trust".

So here are President Washington's statements.
May 1789
"If I could have entertained the slightest apprehension that the constitution might possible endanger the religious rights of any ecclesiastical society, certainly I would never have placed my signature on it."
Late 1789
"The liberty enjoyed by the people of these states of worshipping Almighty God agreeable to their consciences is not only among the choicest of their blessing, but also among their rights"
Then in 1792 he says
"We have abundant reason to rejoice that in this land, the light of truth and reason has triumphed over the power of bigotry and superstition. And that every person may here worship God according to the dictates of his own heart. It is our boast that a man's religious tenets will not forfeit for him the protection of the laws, nor deprive him of any right whatsoever."

Take a few minutes and reflect on what our country was founded on and what it has become.

It is sad isn't it?
We read a book in high school...I think the name was, The Light and THe Glory.
It was about the beginning and why things were done the way they were. Who the leaders were and their relationships with God.

We have taken a huge step in denying who we were and how we got our freedom. You can't help but think what scripture says about what will happen if we deny Him before men.
