Knock Knock

I read something recently. I'm not sure where it could have been, a book (I'm reading three right now) it could have been a blog (I'm visiting to many to count) or it could have been on google. Any way the point is I can't get it out of my mind.

"When Satan is knocking on my door, I let Jesus answer it."
So often I am tempted and so often I want to give in. I need to let Jesus answer the door.
OK how do I do that. Well I think being in scripture is where I need to start. When Jesus was tempted He quoted scripture. I also need to spend time in prayer. I need to be seeking God not just asking God. I need to also take time to listen. I need to be hearing the bible preached and what it means down to the original text. Not just what I want it to say. I need to be in fellowship other Christians. People who can hold me accountable and pray for me.
So next time Satan knocks I want Jesus to open the door.

One of my favorite quotes for a long time was a quote that was written on an old English mantle----Fear knocked...faith answered...no one was there. :)
