I get Steve Brown's magazine from Key Life. In this magazine he has little boxes called
"Thinksports" I want to share with you one that has been in my thoughts lately.
"When Satan is going to deceive a believer, he first makes it religious. There are a lot of Christian who think that because someone quotes Bible verses and looks religious, it's of God. That is not true. Religion is our effort to please God and find him. The Christian faith is God's effort to get to us and tell us that, because of his Son, he is already pleased."
I do agree Satan does goes after believers in away to deceive them? He did it with Eve in the Garden. We need to be in the word daily so when Satan comes to attack we will know if he is making it religious.
We are given the directions on how to fight Satan in Ephesians 6:10-18
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Yes, satan knows he cannot tempt a born again believe in Jesus with outright blatant sin so he makes himself an angel of light the Bible tells us and tries to deceive us. Unless we truly know the Word of God and have it hidden in our heart we can be deceived. Jesus himself stood against satan by quoting the Word of God back to him. We must be clothed with the whole armor of God.

Bless you my faithful friend.
It is a spiritual battle and it's necessary to wear the armor.
This is a good post! Thanks for sharing with us. Love and hugs Grams
Steve Brown always makes you think.
I saw Steve years ago at Sandy Cove Bible Conference. It was simply Steve, on a stage, sitting on a stool. But did he ever challenge you to think about God and our relationship with Him.

God has really be dealing with me on the deception that is going on in the church. I pray often for Him to protect and guard my thoughts.
