Eat, Drink, and Be Merry

This time of year there are many holiday parties. There will be lots of good food. This is the time of year it seems if you are invited to someones house you can guess there will be plenty of food. So of your parties will have drinking going on. That is fine. I'm not against drinking, I just don't do it. I saw what happens when you can't control the amount. So this time of year you hear a lot. Eat, drink and be merry. Do you know where that saying came from?

I was surprised last night to learn it comes from God. He says so in the book of Luke 12:13-21. This is the story were the man is going to build a bigger barn to store up enough grain that he can take it easy in life. God tells him he is fool because his life will end this very night.

Luke 12:19
And I'll say to myself, "You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." '

Every now and then I come across a saying in the bible and I say "So that is where it came from. Just wanted to share .

Hmmmm, wonder how many who say they don't believe in God or the Bible have quoted that? :)
Seems like our book is a little more popular than some would like to admit.
