Oil Spill

I saw something on TV about when there is an oil spill in the waters. They were showing all the animals that needed help after being covered with oil. The poor birds who were covered in the oil and couldn't fly freely. They needed to be washed in dish soap and dried before they could fly freely. They didn't want to be caught and handled so they would fight and struggled to get free the whole time.

This got me to thinking how we are so like those birds. We are covered in oil, our sin. We struggle to be flying free but just can't get off the ground on our own. Then the Father's hands come upon us. Many of us fight him. We don't want to be caught. But the Father washes us clean when we stop fight Him. Then we can fly free. How awesome it that. We have a wonderful God.

Hmmmm...I think I may be in a fighting stage. Or maybe it is just me thinking I am ready to fly and Him letting me know I need to do a little more sitting.
At least I know that when He is finished I will be ready to soar on those wings He gave me. :)
