Weighing In With God

I have been blogging about the need to lose weight for health reasons. A friend and I decided to read the book and do the workbook "Lose It For Life "

I'm finding I only read to page 7 and there is so much truth behind my eating habits. I didn't even get to the workbook. Each chapter will take time, at this rate ,to digest everything.

The first thing I learned to acknowledge is food can be an addiction just like anything else and we need to accept that. You often hear of over abusing drug and alcohol but we don' t hear about over abusing food. That too can be just as deadly to our health. (That was part of Dad's health problems.)

Then we say I'll just cut out the snacks or I'll just do this or that. We are taking control. When will we finally get it. God has control. So often when we think we have control of an area we find another area out of control. Until we accept we don't have control, God does we will have struggles.

I like what Paul says in 2 Corinthians 12:10 When I am weak, then I am strong. When we accept we can not do this that is when God take control and we accomplish something.

I think this journey is going to painful but well worth the growth I will have.

Years ago I took a class called Weigh Down.
The ideas were true and Biblical.
I can not do it....only He can change my heart. A heart that runs for food to fill me instead of Him.
There were not any rules and regulations. Simply...when you are hungry eat and stop when you are satisfied. God made our bodies and just like we don't decide not to breathe anymore....we really should follow how He made our bodies and listen to the hunger signs and full signs.
This has been the hardest battle that I have had.

I have to say no to my flesh and yes the the instruction of the Lord..... I will pray for you as you listen to His voice and I know you can do this... In Christ all things are possible...
