Healthy Changes

I've been really thinking about my father's health this week. Why did his body start to fail him? Dad had diabetes, congestive heart, enlarge heart, high blood pressure and was over weight. Each of these can be broken down to more health concerns.

When I think about my health I have to think about dad's health. How can I avoid the same problems. Dad didn't have any of these except the over weight till his 60's. But most of these health concerns are a result of his weight and life style. Doctors say lose the weight, get the exercise and make better food choices.

This sure is a motivation for me. In the last few years I started with the high blood pressure. I also have asthma. If my parents health is a guide to what my health may become I need to make changes now.

So now I am asking for some accountability. I am going to lose weight, exercise more and make better food choices. I am currently 30 lbs over the high end of a healthy weight for me. I feel my making a commitment on my blog I will have accountability to keep at it.

For my friends locally please ask me from time to time when you see me how is the healthy changes coming in my life. Don't try to talk me into "junk food." Satan will tempt me enough I don't need it coming from friends.

To my blogger friends if you would like to comment to me from time to time I sure would enjoy it.

If you have ideas for me I'm open to hearing them. I joined Curves the other week. I try to get there at least twice a week but want to build it to three times a week and then this summer when I don't work to 5 mornings a week.

My body is a temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell I need to take the best care of it I can.

Hi Sandi, I think this is a great idea for you to make the healthy changes. It seems like just making yourself do it for a couple of weeks, and then it becomes a habit. With my walking challenge, now my husband and I both look forward to it. It's become a part of our day that we do together and I know it is helping us to be healthier.
