Brain Malfunction

If you read my blog you know I am striving to improve my health by eating better and lose wight. I had two things said to me over the past weeks I've been thinking about.

The first is someone asked me if I had a "Brain Malfunction". I love this term. You see you plan to go to bible study or just out to eat and say I'm going but I'll eat healthy. When I get there I'm good till I see the chocolate or ice cream then I have a "brain malfunction" and forget what I said before I left the house.

The next thing said to me bugged me. Someone asked why I can't accept my body. It is what is on the inside that counts. I say not according to the bible. We are to use our whole body for the glory of God. We are not just to be concerned with one or two parts of the body. Christ looks to the whole body. Our part(s) are instruments of righteousness.

Romans: 6:13
Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.

Just something I'm thinking about.

I do think it is important to like yourself. I am not my body. But my body is proof of that which is going on in my heart. When I am eating for reasons other than hunger...we have a problem.
So something I deal with is when I look in the mirror and realize that I got where I am because of gluttony(a sin) or because I would not take emotions to God. Understand.
I am a temple....I should take care of the temple. Not abuse it.
My temple is getting a little to big and it needs to be cleaned up. ;)
I have no one to blame but me. But He will forgive but I need to turn from the ways that got me here in the first place.
And it would be nice to experience a healthy body before I get my heavenly one. :)

You are right..... We are to accept our bodies as God gave them to us....but we are to do what is best to take care of them....... at the moment I am on a very stick diet and it is so hard but I need to loose 40 lbs and I am leaning on Him a lot as I try to get my temple back in shape.....
