The Cat Who Stole Christmas

I just knew this had to be a blog. Our family tradition is to start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. Well this year it got pushed off a day. So this morning we get all the boxes out. I open one box and pull a few things out.

Let me explain our home at Christmas. It is not a theme. It is decorations and ornaments collect though years. I have decorations that are much older than me that was passed on to me. Each year our tree gets a new ornament that is a theme of an important event that happened in our lives that year.

In the first box I opened is my late mother-in-law nativity scene the stable plays "Away In The Manger" when wound up. I placed this nativity on the table. I went to get the next item. Each item takes time because it has some kind of meaning behind it. The next thing I see is my cat grabbing baby Jesus from the manager. Wil, the cat, ran behind the sofa and crawled under it. This is where she goes when she doesn't want to be bothered or found. It took awhile but baby Jesus was placed back in the manager only to be stolen at second time!

This got me to thinking about two things. The first is how this world is trying to take Christ out of Christmas. We need to fight to keep Christ in Christmas even if that means working at it. Stop busing ourselves with the other things that go on at Christmas time and keep God the center.

The other thing I got to thinking about is when we fill like Jesus isn't there. You know when you go though difficulties. Yes you know He says he is there but you just don't feel Him. What do you do? You need to look for Him. If you have to more a heavy sofa, move it, get Jesus back. Feel him close to you.

Cute post.
Cute but so true. I was praying that this year I would have a real revelation of what it meant for Jesus to come.
And we must never let Him be taken from Christmas--He is Christmas.
