A child's trust

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

I've been challenged lately about trusting in the Lord. So I did some research on it. Trust calls for an absolute confidence that God alone knows the right way to the right ends and what benefits us. It also comes with the certainty that God is able to free us from that which does us harm.

Wow to us free from things that do us harm. Sign me up how do I get there?

I got to thinking about a baby and how they trust. They play "peep a boo" and even though they don't see the parent they know the parent will be still there. Then most children enter a stage where they will cry when the parents leave the room. Then comes the stage where the child is crawling and will be out of the parents sight for a minute but keeps coming back to make sure they parent is still there. This time gets longer and longer. Then they walk. They will walk ahead of the parent but they listen carefully to hear the parents voice knowing they are still there. (This may only applies to small children as when they are teens they know more than us but will visit there another day.)If they get to far ahead danger may lie. So they stay close by. They are learning to Trust in stages. They learn to trust their parents will be there.

I continued on to Psalm 61:10 Be still and know that I am God
Be still means to stop striving. God is telling us to stop and He will do it for us. God is there for us if we just take a hold of his hand and walk with him and not ahead of him where danger may lie.

I too learn to trust in stages and each time I trust in God I grow strong in my faith and trust.
