A Nice Visit

Friends stopped by yesterday. They came all the from Boston to PA for a visit. This is a picture of "My Girls" The two little ones are girls I use to b-sit during the day until they moved to Boston in June. The young lady on the far right is my 20 year old daughter Amanda. She is sitting on a big ball. Amanda would often b-sit in the evenings when the parents had date night.

This is a picture of Amanda with the girl's mother, Charice. Charice was Amanda's guard instructor and still is her mentor and friend. I'm thankful for Charice in Amanda's life she has been there in hard times for her. It is always nice to have someone outside the family to talk to. I know I can trust what advice Charise gives to Amanda.

We had a very nice visit. I guess it is our turn to go to Boston sometime for a visit.

Lois & Debbie

Since October is breast Cancer Awareness month I want to take today and tell you about 2 very dear people in my life.

The first is my Aunt Lois. In 1994 she was told she had cancer and would need a full mastectomy. She did not dwell on the fact that she had cancer instead she made it appoint to see every women in our family went for a mammogram. That took a lot of time. There are many of us who haven't even been to a doctor in years. I know for me it was 7 years since I had been my obgyn. When I did go they found a lump. The lump was benign but I had precancerous condition. My mother had not been to her doctor in over 20 years so you can see Lois had a battle to deal with. By the end of two years she had every female in our family for a mammogram. Thank you Lois. Here is a verse I chose for you.
Proverb 4:5& 9
Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them.
She will set a garland of grace on your head and present you with a crown of splendor

The next gal is my dearest and best girlfriend Debbie. She was told in 2005 she had cancer. We build a wall or prayer around her. The gals in bible study and church supported her. She didn't just have a physical battle was during this time she found out she didn't have a good insurance plan. She perversence and I believe is a stronger person today. Thank you Debbie here is the verse I chose for you.
James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

These are two great ladies I am proud to have in my life.

God's Surprise For Me

Well I'm been feeling a little down lately I know why too. You See Monday is the start of the new school year and I b-sit for school teachers. No I wasn't feel down about going back to work it was my favorite family moved to Boston. The Heater Family became very close to our family.

I've been missing my girls McKenna 4 and Ivy 19 months. I always loved McKenna funnies. She could say the funniest things. You never know what would come out of her thoughts. She loved to think and talk. Ivy is a lover but she is opinionated too.

Well today I was standing in the drive way saying good bye to a friend that stopped over when she said "it looks like you got company." Up the driveway comes McKenna and Mama Heather. The tears started and I yelled for Amanda. You see Mama Heather got Amanda though a lot in life as a teenagers. When mom and dad were being dumb Mama Heater made sense. Same words different voice. Amanda too came running and crying. God sure knew we need this surprise.

The are in PA/NJ for just a few days. They head back to Boston Wednesday but we are going out to Dinner Tuesday. Oh the fun we will have.

Thanks God for giving me my surprise. I Love you more and more every day, Lord
