Feeling Accepted

In the world we live in people are always worried about acceptance. But when you think about it we made acceptance a feeling. It is really one choice. Earlier this week I had to call someone from our church. I said to hubby I am going to make the call now but she always seems like I'm not good enough for her. I don't have the high class as she does. I called and got her machine. Then Hubby and I got to talking. Why don't I feel accepted by her. He hit the mark. I don't FEEL accepted. The truth is it is the tone of her natural voice. Hubby then shared something that was discussed in his Sunday School class (I am teaching preschooler, he is in an adult class). She has said just this same thing. She had a problems with family members and it is over her tone.

So it goes back to I don't FEEL accepted that doesn't mean I'm not accepted. Acceptance is a choice people make.

Are there times you don't feel accpeted by God? If you are honest with yourself, know their are. We all have those moments. "How can I ever be that holy?" The truth is we can't on our own. But Praise God though his redemption we are accepted.

Here is what Ephesians 1:3-6
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

Thank you, I enjoyed that. So many things we think are "feelings" but we have the choice really.

I just dealt with this tonight at church.
It hurts.
But I am the woman with the tone.
There is a woman that no matter how I am she feels like I do not accept her. Sad thing is that I do. I take her just the way she is.
And no matter how many times I try to explain this to her-it has not changed.
So I hurt.
But I will go on loving her. Maybe one day she will see my heart.
I am not overly emotional toward people--that is probably part of the problem.I pray that God allows me to deal with her in mercy so that she KNOWS she is loved.
Sorry for such a long comment. Just kind of funny that you posted this and I was just talking to my husband about this on the way home from church.

What a true Post Sandi....about Feelings....and How Loved we are by The Lord.
And Sharon's comment, too....there will always be that person that you cannot please.......
But, we have all known a few of God's People that always leave a "sting" whenever you have contact with them.....and they have hurt many. ....They have wonderful Knowledge of God's word, and are Articulate, but they struggle to love people,..and no matter what they do, they can't hide it and God doesn't get Glorified....We need to lovingly, keep praying for them .......

We always get in trouble when we pre-judge what others are thinking. God searches the heart, we cannot.

Interesting blog posting.
I, for one, don't think we should discount our "feelings".
Didn't God give us feelings that were not given to the animals?
Years ago,we didn't say, "feelings". We would say, "conscience".
Which seems to me to be our spirit speaking to us in terms of what is right or what is wrong with people, places or things in our life. Now days we are expected to accept most anything under the guise that what is wrong for you may be right for the other guy. We are only dumbing down our own conscience when decide to accept deviant behavior, lifestyles or simply the rudeness of others.
