FAITH

I've been Studying Faith the past week and today I received the following in my "Girl Friend in God" email Devotional.
I heard about a pastor's young son who came in from playing. Spotting the boy's dirty hands, his mother told him to wash his hands. "Why?" the little boy asked. "Because there are germs living in that dirt" the mom replied. The little boy refused and began to complain, "Germs and Jesus! Germs and Jesus! That's all I ever hear around this house, and I've never seen either one!"

2 Corinthians 5:7
We live by faith, not by sight.

Matthew 17:20
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Faith is something so little but something so powerful. God will use the tiniest bit of Faith and make it grow into something huge when we use it.

Then last night as I was reading a book by Stormie Omartian says we need to do the following things to increase our faith.

1. Read the Word of God.
Faith comes by imply hearing it when you take the promises and truths in His Word and declare the out loud.
Romans 10:17
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

2. Praying increases our faith
It's how we reach to and touch God. No matter how much faith you have God can increase it.
Matthew 9:20-22
Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed." Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment.

So when you faith seems tiny, speak faith, you can move those mountains in you life.

God I ask you to take my seed of faith and grow it into a giant tree of faith. Give me strength to stand strong on Your promises and believe Your every word. I will put on the shield of faith everyday.
