House Cleaning

I have some major surgery coming up on Oct. 12th. and to prepare for that time I am cleansing my body. I am drinking only water, eating 2 servings of fruit daily and cutting out dairy and sugar. I don't do much caffeine but I am extra careful not to take in much. I'm told this will be helpful in my recovery so I'm doing what is best for my body.

Why don't we do this with our spiritual lives? This Beth Moore study I am doing is like a good house cleaning to me. God is revealing what I need to remove from my body (life) to recover and be in the best of spiritual health. I'm not to happy about some things He is show me but I know I need to cleanse myself to be closer to Him.

I am trying to remind my self how good I feel when my house is clean and the good it bring to walk into a clean house after a hard day. So will it be with my soul, once I complete this current house cleaning with the Lord I will have have that good feeling.

Just like a house that keeps getting dirty and I must keep cleaning it daily but my spring and fall house cleaning is removing major dust bunnies so must my life with Christ be. I must come to Him daily for cleansing but as I grow He will have major dust bunnies to remove in my life once in awhile.

I am tackling a major dust bunny right now so I will pull out the cleaning supplies: bible, praise music, biblical study books and prayer journal. Go to my knees and seek the Lord for direction, wisdom and help.

Amen, we all need to clean out the dust bunnies that are hiding deep in our hearts. Bless you dear one.

It is a continual process, isn't it? For me it is in my spiritual life and in my house. Once I get cleaned up, it doesn't last unless I keep working at it. I am bad about letting clutter build up. It would be a lot easier to just do the little things along the way.
